The basics of The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle is that you are trying to improve your neighbourhood’s eco footprint by enacting small projects and slowly improving the world in interesting ways. To be able to get anything done in this game, you’re going to need to earn influence points in order to vote for these projects to go through.
What Can You Use Influence Points For?
- The Sims 4: Vampires game pack has been out for six hours and TwistedMexi has come through with an updated list of cheats on Reddit once again. Ranking up to a Grand Master, gaining Power Perk Points to unlock supernatural abilities, and maxing out the Vampire Lore skill will take time, but these Vampire cheats will speed up the process.

- Fame is the only measure that matters when it comes to a budding celebrity in The Sims. Rated on a scale of 0 stars to 5, a Sim's fame level dictates how other Sims react to them in the world.
Sims 4 Cheats Activation: How to activate the Cheat Console. Before you can use Sims 4 Cheats, you must first open the cheat console of your gaming platform. Most of the Sims 4 Cheats have to be unlocked by entering “testingcheats true” (or “testingcheats on” for consoles). Enter the desired cheat in the cheat row and confirm with ENTER. The following cheats will effect a sims emotions and active buffs. You must have the sim selected in live mode that you would like to apply the cheat to. Add Buff to Sim. Sims.addbuff Example: Sims.addbuff Energizedlow, would make my sim have the energized emotion.
There are three interactions that are going to use up your influence points in The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle. The first one is voting on neighborhood action plans, this is going to cost you 10 influence points. You can do this on your mailbox, on the voting board in the neighborhood or at the voting board at the community space.
The next, is voting on community space projects. This is where you’ll get to change the community space from an empty building to either a community garden, a maker space, or a marketplace. This can only be done on the voting board at the community space.
Finally, you can use influence points to try and convince people to vote for the NAPs or community space projects that you wish to get enacted. This can be done by clicking on a sim and it will be one of the interactions. This costs you 5 influence points, however, it may fail. It’s best to only do this to sims who you are friends with so there’s a higher chance of it working.
How to Get Influence Points
There are actually so many ways that you gain influence points in The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle. I really believe the sims team did a great job in going back and marking other packs content with the ability to get influence points. I tried to find as many items as I could that can give you influence points in the game, but I promise there are tons that I have yet to discover.
- Friendly Introductions
- Donating Money
- Getting a Promotion
- Increasing Your Fame Rank
- Completing a University Degree
- Mentoring Sims
- Updating Your Simstagram
- Becoming Best Friends
- Following NAP Guidelines
- Giving a Speech as a Politician
- Joining a Protest
- Being in the Civil Designer Career
- Inviting Sims Over
- Giving Out Gifts
- Hosting Events in Your Home
- Recruiting Others into a Club
- Going to Festivals
- Increase Your Reputation
- Volunteering
- Defeating the Mother Plant
- Getting More Followers on Social Media
I’ve found a consistent way to get influence points is to go and introduce yourself to people around the world and start to become friends with them. You’ll get a few influence points for the introduction and more when you become friends, plus you can then invite them over. If you have The Sims 4: Get Famous, having tons of friends will also increase your reputation which can also help you to gain influence.
How to Cheat for Influence Points
Thankfully, you can also get influence points through cheating. To do this you first need to enable cheats by opening the cheat box with ctrl + shift + c then type in testingcheats true and hit enter. You can then close the box by hitting esc on your keyboard.
You can then go to a mailbox or a voting board and hold down shift and click on the item and you’ll have the option to get Influence Points and this will give you 15 points.
Final Thoughts
Now that you know how to get influence points you’ll be able to enact your favourite neighborhood action plans and choose exactly what you want for your community space and create a world that you love and that has a little bit of quirk in it. Happy playing!
